1. When the 14th world Congress of Food Science and Technology will be convened?
A: From Oct.19th to 23rd.
2. Will the simultaneous interpretation be available for the Congress?
A: Yes, the simultaneous interpretation will be arranged for the plenary session and Forums, while the concurrent sessions will be in English.
3. Are there any post office and Bank in the Hotel and the Exhibition Center?
A: No. But Automatic teller machines will be available in the Hotel, and the post and bank will be around the Shanghai Ever bright Hotel.
Registration
1. When is the deadline for the Early Bird registration for the congress?
A. The deadline for Early Bird Registration is Aug 1, 2008, and after that day the registration fee will be increased.
2. How can I register the Congress?
A: Please visit http://www.ciccst.org.cn/food2008/index.php directly to make the registration.
3. How to pay the registration fees?
A: Three ways that we have for registration: Credit Card, Bank transfer and Bank draft, you may also pay the registration on-site, while the registration fee will be different.
4. Which activities are included for the delegate?

5. What should the students provide for the student registration?
A: Please provide the university enrolment advice as proof of student status by fax or e-mail (86-10-6218041) & congressxiv@yahoo.cn.
6. I have applied for student grants provide by the Congress, when could I know the result?
A: Congress Secretariat Office has sent letters to students who have applied for the student grants and his abstract has been accepted by the Congress, asking them to provide proof of doctoral students and the letter of recommendation of IUFoST Adhering Bodies in their countries. Finally, the Technical Program Committee will make decisions based on the abstracts we received.
7. The Registration can be cancelled or changed?
A: If you have registered the congress, but due to some reason that you can’t come over, you may apply for the cancellation. For the refund we will conduct it according to the policy we have, please refer to http://www.iufost2008.org/Regist.html.
8. What provisions Accompanied by staff for the General Assembly?
A: Accompanying person could participate the Welcome Reception, Shanghai Night and have lunch(four days), while could not participate in all the academic activities.
Accommodation and Transportation
1. Why I’d better to make a reservation for designated hotels?
A: October is the peak season of tourism in Shanghai; Hotel rooms would be more tension, can we have reservations as early as housing security, in addition, the designated hotel are close to the venue, you can easily participants.
2. How to make a reservation for Hotel?

3. Will the hotel be refund the deposit that I paid when I going to cancel my registration?
A: No, the hotel would not refund the deposit.
4. How to get the Hotel from Shanghai Pudong International Airport?
A: Shanghai Pudong Inter national Airport is 35 kilometers from downtown. Airport shuttles and taxicabs are available whenever there are flights. If you have much luggage, you can take a taxi (CNYY180) to the Convention venue. The cost from the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to the Convention venue is around CNYY50.Please show drivers the note in the 2nd Circular to easily get to the right place.
Visa
1. How to get the letter of invitation?
A: Please Contact Ms. Feng Xi at Congressxiv@yahoo.cn to get the Congress invitation.
2. How long does it take to process visas?
A: The actual situation of each country is slightly different, but generally require 20-30 days, we suggest you to do it as soon as possible.
Scientific Information
1. How can I know my abstract(s) has been accepted by the Congress?
A: Please refer to http://www.iufost2008.org/news/200863172410.html, to make sure if your abstract has been accepted or not. The Congress Secretariat Office will also send emails to the submitters to notice the review result.
2. What’s the arrangement for the abstracts accepted by the Congress?
A: All submitters whose abstracts have been accepted would be provided opportunities for oral presentation or poster presentation according to the submitter’s request and the reviewing by the Technical Program Committee. The secretariat Office has sent emails to every submitter to confirm the presentation, please check your email and send the feedback form to us as soon as possible.
3. How can I get an official accepted letter for my abstract?
A: Please contact the Congress Secretariat Office with the Abstract Number at iufost2008@gmail.com to get the official accepted letter.
4. What should I do for the poster presentation?
A: A poster consists of a visual display of text, graphs, tables, diagrams, photographs, or a combination of these, on a poster board. Please prepare your poster within the frame of 0.9 meter wide and 1.2 meters high (the poster panel is 1.2 x 2.4 m) and see the final program for the location and time for poster setup and time of poster sessions on the Congress website. You should bring the poster with you when you attend the Congress, and set up the poster at the right place with the guideline we provided, which we will update on the website once it is finalized.
5. What should I do for the oral presentation?
A: Generally, each oral presenter will have 10 minutes for your presentation and 5 minutes for discussion, which maybe different with the arrangement by the Technical Program Committee, please prepare the Powerpoint file for your presentation and see the final program for the location and time on the Congress website.
6. Will the Congress issue the Abstracts Collection?
A: Sure, Abstracts Collection will be issued by the Congress, and all abstracts accepted by the Congress would be included in it. Abstract Collection would be provided for all delegates in the Congress.
7. Shall I need to provide the full paper?
A: Every submitters are not asked to provide the full papers, while the Technical Program Committee will invite some submitters with excellent abstracts to provide the full papers to been published in some SCI publications.
8. I have received the notice from the Congress Secretariat Office that my abstract has been selected as poster presentation, is it possible for me to get a chance to make an oral presentation?
A: We can hardly find the chance for you to make oral presentation. Every session chairs have identified all the oral presentations for each session, we can not get anyone in.
9. When should I know the real time for me to make the oral presentation or poster presentation?
A: We are working on the finalization of the final program of the Congress, and we will update on the Congress website once it is finished.
10. What is the language for the poster and oral presentation?
A: All the presentations should be made in English.
11. What is the structure of the Congress?
A: The Congress is consisting of 7 parts, Plenary Sessions, Symposia, Forums, Technical Sessions, Round Tables Sessions, Poster Sessions and Exhibition.
12. Oral and poster presenters need to register for the Congress?
A: Yes, all oral and poster presenters need to register the Congress.
